HavenHouse St. Louis became an independent nonprofit in 2005, built on a long local legacy of caring for children and families. From the beginning, HavenHouse was created to meet a clear need: patients and families traveling to St. Louis for medical care needed an affordable, supportive place to stay.

       As that need grew, HavenHouse expanded its mission. In 2008, the organization began serving not only families of pediatric patients, but also adult patients, caregivers, and loved ones traveling to Saint Louis for treatment.

       For nearly two decades, HavenHouse has supported families coming to St. Louis for complex medical care, including transplants, cancer treatment, neonatal care, burn care, surgeries, rehabilitation, and other serious health needs.

       After years in its original facility and a period of hotel-based operations, HavenHouse opened its new home at 3450 Park Avenue in January 2025. The new hospital guest house reflects the heart of the mission: providing lodging, meals, transportation, and compassionate support so patients, families, and caregivers can stay close to the care they need.

       Our history is one of compassion, resilience, and community — and our work continues every day for the families who need HavenHouse.
