Community Impact & Community Partners
Medical care and treatment in St. Louis is cutting edge. Hospital hospitality houses such as HavenHouse St. Louis draw people from around the nation and around the world. Through hosting families and helping them while they are in crisis and needing support, we create goodwill and demonstrate that the St. Louis region is an embracing and healing community.
HavenHouse hosts a Hospital Relations Committee meeting quarterly in order to identify how we can better serve our hospital partners and their patients. Hospitals are represented on this committee by the head of the social work department or of specialty departments (such as oncology), or by their designee. These regular efforts to solicit feedback from key hospital staff and to strategize allow us to improve our service delivery.
We also partner with all of the other hospital hospitality houses in St. Louis to enhance the system of support and care for patients and family members who must travel to St. Louis for their medical needs. We work together to assess and close gaps in services and discuss how to address unmet needs to ensure that our community is one of embracing and healing for patients and their families.
